(SINL NIGERIA) In continuation of his empowerment programme for Borno North Senatorial district, the Senate Chief whip, Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno has empowered no fewer than 300 people in Borno North.
Similarly, Monguno who is the vice chairman Senate Committee on Appropriation has disbursed N30 million as starter package for the 300 beneficiaries.
It was gathered that the lawmaker organised a capacity building training for the three hundred small business owners in conjunction with the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR).
Specifically, each of the 300 small business owners received N100, 000.
Speaking at the closing ceremony in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, Monguno, who was represented by a member of the state House of Assembly, representing Nganzai state constituency, Hon. Sheikh Mohammed Gajiram urged the beneficiaries to channel the starter packages accordingly and as they were trained by the facilitators.
Other dignitaries that graced the closing ceremony include, members of the state House of Assembly, serving and former local government chairmen, chieftains of All Progressives Congress (APC) among others.
