In a bid to alleviate pains occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has donated  3900 bags of maize to his constituents.

Yari, a former governor of Zamfara state and senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial zone is the chairman of senate Committee on water resources.

The 11-man committee in charge of   the distribution is led by Mallam Hamza Abubakar.

Abubakar, during the flag off of the distribution in Talata Mafara said, a total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit from the 3900 bags of maize.

He explained that the beneficiaries were selected irrespective of religious or political affiliation as directed by the donor.

“Senator Yari considered the economic hardship confronting his people as a result of fuel subsidy removal and decided to offer the gesture as his own contribution” Abubakar said.

He however called on the people to give the Committee maximum cooperation in the discharge of their duty, to enhance successful exercise.

It would be recalled that Senator Yari has been involved in philanthropic gesture even before he emerged senator representing Zamfara West at the 10th senate.
