The senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro has called for immediate end to the continued killings in parts of the senatorial district by suspected herdsmen.

Apa, Agatu and Otukpo LGAs have been under bloody attacks by the marauding herders leading to wanton destruction of lives and property.

Senator Moro expressed displeasure at the development and called on both the federal and state governments to take immediate steps to nip the barbaric acts in the bud.

He said he can no longer guarantee the continued patience of the affected people who have been waiting on government to come to their aid, adding that the victims have been pushed to the wall and will resort to self-help if help does not come to them immediately.

The senator condemned the recent killings in the land, especially the Sunday and Friday killings in Ogbaulu Community, in Agatu LGA.

According to the lawmaker, the unprovoked attacks which resulted in the gruesome murder of five armless villagers on their farms are unacceptable.

He therefore called on security agents to go after the perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them to book.
