(SINL NIGERIA) Newly Appointed Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nafisa Muhammed Maradun has unveiled Six-Point Agenda to Revamp Zamfara’s Healthcare System.
The commissioner introduced a comprehensive six-point agenda aimed at addressing the state’s pressing health challenges.
This announcement was made during her inaugural speech at the State Ministry of Health in Gusau, the state capital.
Assuming office amidst a state of emergency declared in the health sector by Governor Dauda Lawal, Dr. Maradun emphasized the need for strategic engagement with stakeholders, assessment of health system gaps, and immediate action to improve service delivery.
Her six-point agenda prioritizes health awareness and community engagement, monitoring and evaluation, and building institutional capacity.
Key components of Dr. Maradun’s strategy include strengthening the primary healthcare system, prioritizing training and capacity building for healthcare workers, and addressing health promotion and disease prevention.
She also pledged to ensure equitable access to healthcare services for all residents, regardless of their social status or geographic location.
To achieve these goals, Dr. Maradun announced the establishment of a Central Coordination and Delivery Unit (CCDU) to oversee program implementation and monitoring.
She expressed gratitude to Governor Lawal and stakeholders for their trust and support, calling for collaboration to achieve the state’s health objectives.
