The crisis in the Zamfara state All progressive Congress (APC) deepened at the weekend, following the emergence of parallel executive members of the party.
Indeed, the Senator Kabiru Marafa faction has affirmed Alhaji Surajo Garba maikatako as the party chairman with 31 other executives members.
The affirmation was announced on Saturday during the State factional APC Congress held in Tsafe town, the headquarters of Tsafe local government area of Zamfara state.
SINL Nigeria Online reports that the state factional congress saw over five thousand delegates across the 147 wards and local government areas.
Speaking at the Congress, Senator Kabiru Marafa urged the new party executives to be law abiding and remain good ambassadors.
Marafa who was represented by his spokesman Alhaji Bello Bakyasuwa further called on their supporters to remain steadfast and shun anything capable of destroying the good reputation of the party.
In his acceptance speech, the Marafa’s led factional chairman, Alhaji Surajo Maikatako assured to carry all members along in the affairs of the party.
Among the new executives are Alhaji Surajo Garba maikatako, chairman Danmalan Maiyadi, vice chairman, Alhaji Awwalu Garba, treasurer, Nasiru Mohammed Gummi is to serve as secretary of the party.
Others are Nafisa Ahmed Marafa as state woman leader, Alhaji Abubakar Gura as organizing secretary while the post of State publicity secretary went to Alhaji Bello Bakyasuwa.
