Zamfara state business community has sought federal and state government financial aid to prevent their activities from collapse.

The appeal was made by the Managing Director of Alfijir Bakery, Alhaji Habibu Abdullahi while speaking at the election and inauguration of executive members of Association of Mobile Phones and Allied Products Traders of Nigeria, Zamfara state chapter.

He declared that about 70% of business and commercial activities in the state have suffered devastating setbacks, saying they are heading to standstill.

The Managing Director lamented that the problem started from the COVID -19 pandemic and escalated to the present level of despair and closure of businesses.

He therefore stressed the urgent need for federal and state government to financially support the community to enable it normalize its activities.

In his remarks at the occasion, the elected chairman of the association, Alhaji Kabiru Garba Mukhtar echoed the earlier plea for assistance from government to boost economic development of the state and morale of its 3,327 members across the state.
