Zamfara Earmarks Over N6billion  for Roads, Other Projects in Maradun LGA

Zamfara state government has earmarked over six billion Naira to construct roads and other infrastructural projects in Maradun local government.

This is contained in a statement by Director General, media and communication to the state governor, Nuhu Salihu Anka.

The statement said the roads to be constructed are the Maradun – Magami- Faru and Maradun – Makera to ease transportation problems in the area.

Other projects to be executed in the 2024 budget in Maradun local government include the rehabilitation of government secondary school Gora Namaye, the upgrading of Maradun general Hospital, the construction of offices for mobile squadron, a magistrate court and residential buildings among others.

Governor Dauda Lawal disclosed this when he visited the local government recently, where he launched the distribution of fertiliser and other agricultural facilities to farmers of the area under the Fadama ||| programme.

During the launch, governor Dauda who assured the farmers of the area of his government’s commitment to support the agricultural sector’s growth and development, requested the beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity to increase their yields and contribute to the growth of agricultural sector and the state in general.

Earlier, the Sole Administrator of the area, Alhaji Yahaya Giwa Maradun expressed his appreciation and that of the people of the area to the governor for solving the perennial water problem they have been facing for decades, within six months of his tenure as the state governor.

In his remarks, the Emir of Maradun, Sarkin Kaya, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Tambari, who described the governor as an embodiment of unity, peace and development, thanked him for what he has been doing to not only Maradun but the state at large.

In the governor’s entourage were the state Deputy Governor, Hon. Mani Malam Mummuni, Secretary to the state government, Abubakar Nakwada, Chief of staff, Alhaji Mukhtar Luggage, Honourable Commissioners, Special Advisers and host of other dignitaries.
