Zamfara partners UNICEF on Health, Education, Women Development

Zamfara State governor, Dr Dauda Lawal has expressed his administration determination to continue to partner with UNICEF in the area of Health care, Education and Women development.

Governor Lawal, spoke on Monday when he played host to a delegation of UNICEF led by Dr Maryam Sa’id at the government house in Gusau, a statement signed by Nuhu Salihu Anka,Director General, Media and communication said.

According to the governor, the state government remain committed to partner with organisations that will contribute in the development of the state and its populace.

He noted that his administration is ever ready to pay the counterpart funding on projects that will touch lives of the masses, saying UNICEF needs to do more in the state and assured their safety and security in Zamfara state.

The governor who thanked UNICEF for the visit, charged them to improve on their relationship with the government and make it even better, considering the predicaments that bedeviled the state for decades.

He therefore urged UNICEF to do more for the state to cushion the problems.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Dr Maryam Sa’id sympathized with the state government over insecurity that has consumed many lives, saying they are ready to invest and support the state for development.

She expressed their readiness to continue to work with Zamfara State Government, revealing that UNICEF invested over two billion naira ( N2b) in the state in 2022.
