The Zamfara State Peoples Democratic party (PDP) has said Governor Bello Matawalle cannot intimidate the party from reopening its state Secretariat in Gusau.

Addressing newsmen on Thursday in Gusau, the State PDP publicity secretary Alhaji Faruk Rijiya said the party was aware of plans by the state government to stop PDP from reopening its office.
He said the constitution allow the party to establish offices.

“We gathered that the State government want to stop us from opening our office secretariat after we wrote to relevant authorities, notifying them of the new PDP State office in Gusau”.

Rijiya added that nothing would deter them from performing their constitutional rights.

According to Rijiya, this was the second time of denying the State PDP of attempt to open office accommodation in Gusau, the State capital.
“We are law abiding, the constitution has given us right to establish offices from wards, local government and State”

“This was the second time, we were denied the right to open office accommodation, we wrote to the appropriate authorities and we haven’t got reply 40 days after”.

He said that they painted the party office with logo of PDP but was marked unauthorized.
