The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State on Monday took swipe at the Matawalle’s administration, alleging that almost three years in office his score card is virtually zero.

The party bemoaned how a civilian governor would spend almost three years in office without commissioning a single project for the state.

Consequently, the PDP urged Governor Matawalle to be alive to his responsibilities, saying the state was on fire.

Addressing newsmen at the state PDP secretariat in Gusau, the chairman of the party, Col. Bala Mande (rtd) who spoke through his deputy, Professor Kabiru Jabaka, enjoined the Governor to wake up from slumber.

Specifically, the party alleged that the Governor has chosen comfort over serious state matters that require urgent attention.

“Present actors in the state have chosen comfort as their primary objective of leadership contrary to the provision of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“The state is on fire due to banditry while Matawalle is in Niger Republic enjoying himself, even if he claims to be there because of security reasons, then this is not the right time for the tour to Niger Republic” PDP said.

According to Mande, over 50 innocent citizens were killed, while many were reportedly kidnapped just last week, stressing that “it is disheartening our State is bleeding”.

The State PDP stressed that there is no single Internally Displaced Persons camp officially in the state.

He also revealed that all schools in the state have been shut, lamenting that school children are roaming the streets across the State.

Continuing, Mande alleged further that Matawalle’s carefree attitude to the welfare and security of lives and properties has become a public concern.

He challenged the governor to come out and point at a single capital project he has initiated and commissioned since assumption of office.
