The Speaker zamfara state House of Assembly, Honourable Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya has charged lawmakers in the state to remain more focus on their legislative duties as the house resumed sitting.
Honourable Magarya in a statement on Monday, by the Director General Press Affairs and Public Relations, Zamfara state House of Assembly, Mallam Mustafa Jafaru kaura said fulllegislative and plenary sessions has resumed.
“Full legislative and plenary resumed today at the zamfara state House of Assembly after the expiration of one month recess as enshrined in section 104 of the 1999 constitution as amended”.
He explained that lawmakers were on break for the last one month which enable them to consult widely with the people of their respective constituencies with the aim of presenting their different demands.
The speaker while welcoming members to full legislative function urged the lawmakers to be more proactive in their legislative responsibilities.
“I urge my colleagues to be more proactive, diligent and purposeful in representation in this fourth quarter of the second season in our legislative responsibilities”.
Honourable Magarya also assured that the sixth Assembly under his leadership will focus more on the task of lawmaking, roburst and credible legislation that will change the fortune of the electorates that voted them to office.
On the second wave of covid-19 pandemic that is ravaging the country and world at large, the speaker said that members, management and staff of the House will strictly abide by all safety protocols and guidelines of covid-19 pandemic.
It would be recalled that the House went on recess on the on 11th December, 2020 after deliberations on the general principles of 2021 budget.
