Breaking: Senator Monguno emerges Senate majority chief Whip

Senator Representing Borno North, Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno on Wednesday emerged the Senate majority chief Whip and deputy chairman committee on appropriation.

This followed the removal of Senator Ali Ndume (Borno south).

Meanwhile, senator Ali Ndume is now the chairman senate committee on Tourism in a reorganisation of some committees announced at the plenary.

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio said a communication from the All Progressives Party (APC) said Ndume has been critical of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“On behalf of the 10th senate, I congratulate Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno on his elevation to his new position” Akpabio said.

Akpabio added that the Senator representing Ondo Central in the National Assembly, Adeniyi Adegbonmire, (SAN) takes over the position of Monguno, as the senate chairman on judiciary, human rights and legal matters.
