COVID-19: Yobe Records Index Case

Yobe, a state in northeast Nigeria has recorded its first case of coronavirus.

The state Deputy Governor and Chairman of COVID-19 Prevention and Control Committee, Idi Barde, made the disclosure on Thursday.

He explained that the patient is a 29-year-old man who has no travel history.

Barde however noted that following the confirmation of the index case, the committee has commenced the contact-tracing of those believed to have had contact with the patient.
