Emir of Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State, Maj. Sanusi Muhammad Asha (rtd) has bemoaned shortage of electricity supply to his emirate, saying it is a threat to socio-economic development in the zone.
The Emir spoke when he hosted officials of Kaura Namoda Empowerment and Development Forum (KANEDEF), during a Sallah homage at his Palace in Kaura Namoda.
He said Kaura Namoda is a business hub, the second largest city in Zamfara State, with abundant Human and Natural Resources, but according to the Emir could not be utilize due to lack of power supply.
Emir Asha reiterated that the ancient city of Kaura Namoda, a railway terminal of the northern part of the country, with huge Agricultural potential is now faced with challenges of lack of power supply and youth unemployment.
He expressed readiness to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure adequate Power supply in the zone, stressing that it will improve security of the Emirate.
Also speaking, Secretary of the forum, Mukhtar Abubakar noted that the group is prepared to ensure adequate and steady power Supply to Kaura Namoda.
He expressed optimism that adequate power will boost business activities, as well as provide job opportunities in the emirate.
Similarly, the spokesperson of the forum, Abdulrazak Bello Kaura expressed satisfaction with the style of leadership of the new emir.
