The Nassarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule has tasked the people of Udege chiefdom to fish out criminals in the area.
Governor Abdullahi gave the charge when he paid a fact finding visit to the palace of the Osu Ajiri, Halilu Bala Usman, the traditional ruler of Udege Chiefdom on Sunday.
A statement issued by the chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ibrahim Addra said the visit followed the killing of Mr. Amos Ewa Obere, the monarch of Odu in Nasarawa Local Government Area.
“We believe there are criminal elements amongst the people of this area and we must fish them out”
Governor Sule who restated that security of lives of the citizens is a priority of his administration insisted that “criminals must not be allowed to truncate the peace and economic activities in our communities”.
He lamented the resurgence of insecurity in the area that was “peaceful only months ago”.
He admonished youths in the area to shun crime.
Meanwhile, the Osu Ajiri applauded the Governor for beefing up security in the area as well as the on going construction of mararaba Udege – Udege Mbeki road.
He however canvassed speedy appointment of more district heads in the area, saying it will ease administration and improve security.
Sule also paid a condolence visit to the palace of the late traditional ruler of Odu.
The statement said governor Sule was accompanied on the visit by a former governor and Senator representing the area, Abdullahi Adamu and other government officials.
