The Media Centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja was on Friday morning engulfed by fire, THE PUNCH reports.
The cause of the fire is unknown as details of the incident are sketchy.
But INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, confirmed the incident to The PUNCH.
He said, “Yes, it’s true, there was a fire. I’m going to the office to find out what happened. I will get back to you.”
Recall the Treasury House, office of the Accountant General of the federation and the Corporate Affairs Commission headquarters in Abuja was also gutted by fire recently.
