Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) has applauded the steps taken by the Federal Government of Nigeria(FGN) to fight the spread of Coronavirus in the country.
Recall, President Muhammadu Buhari had in a nationwide broadcast last Sunday announced a two weeks lockdown of Abuja, Lagos and Ogun State as part of efforts to fight the Coronavirus pandemic .
In a statement on behalf of NFSC and signed by the President-General Dr. Rafiu Oladipo and the Public Relations Officer Hafeez Balogun, the club stated that the decision is in the best interest of the country, adding : it’s better to stay alive at home than to end up in the grave.’
The NFSC further commended all the state Governors for following the President’s example in fighting the scourge while praising the Minister of Health. Dr. Osagie Ehanire and the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 headed by the Secretary of the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha for their efforts in checking the spread of the deadly virus.
The Youth and Sports Development Minister, Sunday Dare, was equally eulogized for suspending all sporting activities, even as they prayed that that sports will bounce back after COVID-19 is eradicated.
The club advised Nigerians to maintain personal hygiene, maintain social distancing, wash their hands with soap and running water and use sanitizers. it reminded Nigerians that the World is in trying period now but with total commitment and God on our side we shall overcome.
