Wamakko mourns Jakande, Sokoto ex-Edu commissioner, Danchadi

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman,  Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda, says the death of Lagos State second Republic Governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, has robbed Nigeria of a committed, iconic, Pious and Patriotic elder statesman.

Wamakko, also a former Governor of Sokoto State,  said in his condolence message that, the deceased had played invaluable roles in the entrenchment and sustenance of democracy in Lagos State and Nigeria, in general.

The former governor, in a statement by Bashir Rabe Mani, Senior Special Assistant Media and Publicity to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, on Thursday and made available to SINL Nigeria Online further stated that, Lagos state had recorded tangible giant strides between 1979 and 1983, when he was its Governor.

He also declared that, the late Jakande had lived a life worthy of emulation, as well as utmost sacrifices to Lagos State and  Nigeria, in general.

Wamakko prayed the Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannat firdaus and grant his family, people and Government of Lagos state and the entie Nigerians, the formidable fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. 

In a related development,  Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has expressed shock on the death of the forner Sokoto State Education Commissioner , under his administration Alhaji Bello Yusuf Danchadi.

He described the described the deceased as a dedicated, pious and dedicated core gentleman.

Wamakko prayed the Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannat firdaus and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss .
