Zamfara APC Crisis: Court dismisses Yari’s suit

The Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara State has struck out suit filed by former All Progressives Congress (APC)  local government party Chairmen led by former Governor Abdulaziz Yari.

In a ruling on Friday the high court judge, justice Aminu Bappa said the court has no jurisdiction over internal affairs of a political party.

The court ruled that dissolution of local government party chairmen of APC was a decision of the National Caretaker committee chairman, Mai mala  Buni and entirely an internal affairs of the party (APC).

It would be recalled that 10 former APC Local Government Party chairmen led by former Governor Abdul Aziz Yari’s file a suit against the National Caretaker committee chairman, Mai mala Buni at the federal high court Gusau, challenging their dissolution. 

The National Caretaker Committee had announced the dissolution of all the party executives in the state when Governor Bello Matawalle defected to APC and declared the Governor as leader of the party in the State. 

Shortly after the court ruling, the plaintiff lawyer, Mr Enwelum SAN said he would go through the judgement and take further Step. 

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State under the leadership Tukur Umar Danfulani commend the judiciary for standing by the truth over falsehood in the nation’s democracy.

“Today’s judgement at the state High Court, Gusau is an affirmation of the leadership of the APC under His Excellency, Mai-Mala Buni in religiously following the provisions of the party’s constitution to do the right thing in fairness to all members”.
