A former Governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido has urged presidential aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to avoid rancour that could affect the party in 2023.
Lamido made the call at his Bamaina residence, when he played host to one of the PDP presidential aspirants, Alhaji Mohammed Hayatudeen at the weekend.
Lamido expressed concern on the unfortunate security and economic situation of the country, saying “Nigeria is blinking and urgently need an experienced, capable and hardworking person to save the people and the country”.
According to him “the Peoples Democratic Party is capable of restoring the country back to normalcy within the shortest period”.
“All the 15 aspirants are qualified to rule and save the country, PDP has the materials and we believe you can do it. But the position is only for one person. You can’t be there at once, so please organize yourselves, conduct yourselves in a very good, peaceful and mature way to achieve the desired objective”.
Also speaking, the presidential aspirant, said he was in the state and Lamido’s resident as part of his visit to meet the delegates ahead of the party’s primary election.
He commended Lamido for his love and commitment to the party.
